Tips for Conducting National Forms Page Searches

  • Use your web browser's built-in text search tool to locate the form you need. In most browsers this can be done by going to the top menu and choosing Edit --> Find. In new versions of web browsers, the menu bar might be hidden. The quickest way to pull up the text search tool if this is the case is to hold down the Control key (Ctrl) then press the letter F key (Ctrl + F).

  • Keyword searches. After the search textbox has popped up, you can type in the name of the form you are looking for or the letter and number classification.

For example: If you are looking for Form B 101 "Voluntary Petition," you may type the form number (B 101) or a keyword such as "voluntary," "petition," or the form name "voluntary petition," then press the Enter key. This should take you to the first result of your search on the page. When searching by form number, you must include the space between the "B" and the number. Keep in mind that the more specific you get with the name or letter and number classification, the more precise you can be with the results.

Note that many of the form numbers noted in the instructions provided on this website are for individual (i.e., not corporate or business) debtors. Effective December 1, 2015, the Voluntary Petition and accompanying schedules for individual and non-individual debtors are different forms. You will find the appropriate corresponding forms for non-individual debtors on the U.S. Courts' Bankruptcy Forms page.
